We help leaders hear what their people already know.
GoodWell was founded in December 2015 by a serial entrepreneur who had learned, running his own companies, that the best information about a business sits with its employees, and that most of it never reaches the top.
Why we exist
Most companies survey their people once a year with a long questionnaire, receive a report nobody reads, and change very little. Employees notice, and the next year they answer with even less candour.
We built GoodWell to break that cycle: a survey short enough to answer honestly, analysis thorough enough to read every word, and a report clear enough to act on. Then we made it repeatable, so leaders can see whether what they did worked.
GoodWell is a Public Benefit Corporation. Our charter commits us to the well-being of employees, not only to the companies that pay us, and we give one percent of revenue to environmental causes as a member of 1% for the Planet.

Three ideas behind everything we build.
Employees are the experts
Nobody knows what is working and what is broken better than the people doing the work. The job of leadership is to ask, listen and act.
Open questions beat checklists
A survey written by management can only confirm what management already suspected. An open question finds what nobody thought to ask.
Listening is a habit, not an event
One survey is a snapshot. A survey every quarter, compared honestly to the last, is how a culture actually changes.
